Condolence to The People's General

On Friday 30th November, 2012, we paid a condolence visit to General Muhammadu Buhari at his Kaduna residence. On approaching the street along Sultan Road, the general mood of the environment would tell you that something was definitely going on there. There was a near standstill traffic apparently caused by the numerous cars parked by a multitude of sympathisers that thronged GMB's home to condole him over the death of this eldest daughter, Zulaihat a day before.

However, we were lucky to get through into the compound and have an unfettered access to the People's General. There were three of us who went there as a group: Alhali Umaru Dembo mni, Abubakar Muhammad Babangida and my humble self. After condoling the General individually, I managed to do same on behalf of members of 'Yan Arewa yahoogroups, Arewa Renaissance Initiatives and the Order of Talaka. He warmly acknowledged and appreciated our condolences as we offered prayers for the repose of Zulaihat's soul.

Allah Ya jikanta, Ya kyauta namu karshen.
